The village is a part of the Arctic Coast Way which is increasingly popular with guests who choose to travel and experience roads less frequented in the remote areas of northern Iceland. A short car ride from Kópasker takes visitors to the actual Arctic Circle, enabling them to visit Raufarhöfn village with The Arctic Henge, and explore the beaches and bird cliffs in Melrakkslétta. The Northern Lights can also be enjoyed in the best possible conditions as they illuminate the countryside around Kópasker.
